When the yarn has so much character, all you need is a simple pattern to let it shine.
This *boxy cardigan* is worked from the top-down in one piece at a super friendly gauge of 13 sts!
This design has a *raglan sleeve*, which means that you need to place markers, and you'll be making increases on both sides of them to make room for the body and the sleeves.
I designed this pattern for a very fluffy worsted weight yarn that actually knits up as a bulky one... But it is very easy to substitute, make sure you check out the notes below under the MATERIALS section.
**SIZES**
1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).
Recommended to be worn with 12-16" [30-40 cm] of positive ease. Shown in size 3 on a 36” [90 cm] bust.
**FINISHED MEASUREMENTS**
Bust circumference: 43¼ (48, 51½, 55½, 59½, 62¾, 67¼, 72½, 76½, 81¼)" [108 (120, 129, 139, 148.5, 157, 168, 181, 191.5, 203) cm].
Sleeve circumference at upper arm: 12½ (13, 14¼, 15½, 16¼, 18¼, 19½, 20¾, 21½, 22¾)" [31 (32.5, 35.5, 39, 40.5, 45.5, 49, 52, 54, 57) cm].
**MATERIALS**
This pattern is designed for a very fluffy worsted weight yarn that actually knits up as a bulky one.
Recommended: 5 (5, 5, 7, 7, 7, 9, 9, 9, 11) skeins of Moko Moko by Moondrake Yarn Co (90% brushed merino / 10% silk; 164 yds [150 m] / 50g) or 623 (720, 820, 950, 1050, 1150, 1250, 1380, 1475, 1575) yards [570 (660, 750, 870, 960, 1050, 1140, 1260, 1350, 1440) m] of VERY fluffy worsted weight yarn.
You will need 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6) skeins or 377 (442, 492, 541, 606, 656, 705, 770, 820, 869) yards [345 (405, 450, 495, 555, 600, 645, 705, 750, 795) m] in MC and 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5) skeins or 246 (278, 328, 410, 442, 492, 541, 607, 656, 705) yards [225 (255, 300, 375, 405, 450, 495, 555, 600, 645) m] in CC.
**Needles:** US 8 [5 mm] and US 7 [4.5 mm] circular needles.
**Other notions:** 5 buttons, approx 1" wide or slightly smaller. Stitch markers, stitch holders (or waste yarn), tapestry needle.
**GAUGE**
13 sts and 26 rows to 4” [10 cm] in Stockinette st on US 8 [5 mm] needles, knitted flat (for the body). Also, 15 stitches and 26 rounds to 4 inches [10 cm] in Stockinette st in the round (for the sleeves)
Note: When knitting a circumference with this yarn, I found that my gauge became slightly tighter.
Before you measure, please take the time to wash and block your swatch in the same manner that you will wash and block your sweater.
