Liquorice is a super quick project to knit just before the winter is over… or just before it arrrives!
It is worked in Bulky weight yarn, which makes it grow so fast, you can literally see this grow inch after inch as you knit. 
I used a gorgeous Eggplant colorway, which suits my always neutral wardrobe… However I can picture this in a BRIGHT color too, peeking under a jacket as the perfect statement piece.
Liquorice is worked from the top-down, seamlessly in one piece. I named it after the colorway of the yarn I used, which brings me great memories. I visited Julie and JF (the dyers) at their home/studio and I cam home with these gorgeous gorgeous skeins with me.

SIZES 
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL). Shown in size M on a 36” bust. 
Recommended ease: 2-4” (5-10 cm) of positive ease.
 
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 
Bust circumference: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 65) inches; 80 (90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160) cm.
 
MATERIALS 
Yarn: 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7) balls of DOUILLET by Julie Asselin (100% Wool; 135 yards 124m / 115g) or 405 (472, 540, 580, 634, 715, 769, 850, 904) yards 372 (434, 496, 533, 582, 657, 706, 781, 830) m of chunky weight yarn. Shown in colorway Liquorice. 
Needles: 
Size XS requires a smaller needle to get a tighter gauge, otherwise the st counts won’t work for this size: US 10½ or 7mm circular needles, about 32” long. You will need an extra needle for the tubular bind off. It can be the same or a similar size. 
Sizes S to 5XL: US 11 8 mm circular needles, about 32” long. You will need an extra needle for the tubular bind off. It can be the same or a similar size. 
Other: Stitch markers, cable needle, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle.
 
GAUGE 
Size XS: 12 sts and 17 rows: 4” 10 cm on US 10½ or 7 mm needles in Stockinette stitch. 
Sizes S to 5XL: 11 sts and 16 rows = 4” 10 cm on US 11 8 mm needles in Stockinette stitch. 
Before you measure, please take the time to wash and block your swatch in the same manner that you will wash and block your sweater.
