The combination of garter stitch, short rows and eyelet rows can create the most varied results, but it always guarantees that you’ll have a good time knitting. Enjoy working away on this simple and fun project!

This is a project that made me especially happy. My friend Ale (Pura Hilados) and I paired up and tried to make a product that’s 100% Argentine for the first time.

82 inches (205 cm) from side to side and 14 inches (35 cm) from top to bottom at deepest point (after blocking).

Yarn: 2 skeins of Pura Sock by Pura Hilados (100% merino; 440 yards 401m/100g); or approx. 800 yards of fingering weight yarn in 2 colors. You will need 430 yards in color A (shown in colorway Nevadita Candy) and 380 yards in color B (shown in colorway Too Rainy).
Attention: Many skeins of fingering weight yarn have only 400 yards, but most testers used more than that for color A.
Needles: US 6 (4 mm) needles.
Other notions: Tapestry needle, blocking pins or wires.

This shawl is worked from the centre top down. Stitches are increased at each side on every other row to give it its characteristic crescent shape, and the wedges are created by the use of short rows.
You can carry the yarn you are not using up one edge. There is no need to break the unused yarn each time.
